The music of Visual Cliff combines the power and intensity of Rock and Metal with the intricacies of heavy jazz-fusion. Sometimes heavy and in your face other times very atmospheric and ambient. The twists and turns and creative elements that can be found within each composition keep the listener actively engaged. The melodic and fiery bursts that guitarist Rob Perez employs can be compared to a unique blend of Pat Matheny meets Alan Holdsworth meets Joe Satriani. Drum composer Rick Mals is an incredible talent bringing a creative punch to the compositions, redefining the term groove. Eric Fuller is the monster talent on bass and adds that perfect blend of edge and power to the rhythm section. Keyboardist, Rob Klan, provides the atmospheric backdrops that truly accentuate the music without ever being over-stated. The 2005 album “Freedom Within” and forth-coming October 2007 release “Into The After” also features the incredible vocals of Shane Lankford. Together, these musicians have created a very unique voice in the instrumental rock/fusion genre and should be considered essential in any true music fans collection.
