ThunderSongs is a web store and information center that began as an association of friends. As we expand we are always ready to make new friends. The personal relationship between artists and ThunderSongs is most important to us.
We specialize in Christian Progressive Rock and also expand into other Christian music genres such as fusion and alternative praise. If you feel that your songs would fit here, we’d like to hear you! First, look at our basic guidelines.
Guidelines
ThunderSongs honors the Lord:
In everything we do the foremost consideration is bringing honor and glory to the Lord. The music presented here will do just that. We consider that this is not a limitation, but an expansion into a stylistic freedom that constantly keeps its eyes Heavenward. We believe that the Lord is the Author of all Song and as such, He has total stylistic latitude. This give us great freedom in our songs that proclaim, praise, and prophesy.
The music presented here will maintain a worldview of faith in the God Who is there and not silent. This means that what you hear on ThunderSongs will be music made by believers who are in the world but not of the world. This is not a constraint on your music but rather a focus on your musical direction.
ThunderSongs is *family friendly:*
The music that you find here is generally uplifting and encouraging. While darker themes are explored in many places, they are done in a way that is not offensive or vulgar. On rare occasions there *may* be very mild profanity, but only as a valid artistic or point-of-view statement (as in the protagonist of “The Robbery of Murder” by Salem Hill.) Although we recognize that even in a few places in the Bible mild profanity is used to get the point across, we would prefer that you would use the rest of the English language in your lyrics. If *brief* mild profanity is used in an acceptable manner, it will be noted as an advisory on the description of your release.
ThunderSongs musical standards:
ThunderSongs will review any music that you submit to determine if your work will fit here. Part of that process is monitoring both musical and production standards. You will find that we have *much* more leeway in that area than larger commercial sites. Oftentimes if your music has compelling spiritual value, this will compensate for these areas. ThunderSongs will be the sole arbiter in these decisions.
ThunderSongs presentation standards:
ThunderSongs will need to receive your music in a form that we can use. A commercially produced CD is the best form. Original 16 / 44 .wav files of your songs is also acceptable. If you send us a CD-R, it would be best to make a data CD with the .wav files intact. A self produced CD-R is the least acceptable, but it will do if it’s all you have. We also need artwork to present with your release. If you don't have any, we can help you design a cover.
Submission
Submitting music to ThunderSongs:
You may contact us initially by e-mail at: service@thundersongs.com. Tell us about yourself and if you're in a group, about your band. You can attach a song or song clip for us to hear if you’d like. Be sure to give us full contact information including phone number in case we need to speak with you.
You may mail us physical media or if you only have .wav files we can provide you with FTP information to upload to our data center. If we are just giving an initial listen, you may attach .mp3 files to your e-mail. (We have no size limitations on attachments.) We also request full lyric sheets for all songs submitted.
You may also do it the *old fashioned* way by snail mailing us your package. Enclose a cover letter with all contact information and send to:

As we consider this a work of service to the musicians of the Lord, there is currently no charge to enroll as a ThunderSongs artist. We will do the setup of your music and pages as a service to you. If this job gets overwhelming we may ask for your assistance in certain areas. Most of the time, however, we will be able to handle everything for you.
Payments to you
How ThunderSongs pays you:
At this time ThunderSongs pays a full 80 percent of the purchase price to the artist. That means if your FLAC ThunderBundle sells for $10.99, you get $8.79. We generally pay shortly after the sale (if you're on PayPal) unless there is an unusually busy time. In every case, you will get your share promptly and efficiently.
Our preferred payment method is through PayPal. If you have an account set up you just need to supply the PayPal e-mail addy to which we send payments. If you don’t have one, they’re painless to set up. Go to www.paypal.com for more info.
We can also pay you by company check issued from our office and mailed to you. If you choose this method we will make payments once a month.
The Big Picture
Where we’re going:
ThunderSongs began a little over a year ago with Vertical Alignment and a small handful of artists. In this new iteration we have grown to almost twenty artists. Yes we are still small, but we continue to grow. Come and join us in our great adventure!
