Greg Wollan
Greg Wollan began playing in club bands in the upper midwest right out of high school covering such artists as Kansas, Supertramp, Steely Dan. etc., laying a foundation for the music he would someday be writing. After slugging it out in the clubs for years, a move to Nashville was forthcoming, but not before God really moved in his life, delivering him from substance abuse and despondency. Within a few years Greg secured a gig playing with Steve Taylor from 1994 through 1997 on the tours following his “Squint” release, and appeared on Steve's “liver” CD. During this time he also played with Power Pop artist Doug Powell, as well as releasing his first CD “Luminosity." Arriving back in Minneapolis in the late 90’s, Greg accepted a position of Associate Pastor of worship at Woodland Hills Church in St. Paul. A string of CD's followed: “The Word to the World,” “Gloryblound,” “Architect of Beauty,“ all of which had a classic rock vibe with some progressive flavorings. The next disc “The Good King's Highway” led Greg into yet more progressive waters, and 2006's “deep Calls 2 Deep“ is a full immersion back into his Prog roots. Playing Acoustic/electric guitars, keys, and bass gives Greg a solid foundation to work from and he utilizes many gifted singers and players to add colour to his musical palette. Influences include: Camel, Steve Hackett, Peter Gabriel, Todd Rundgren, Genesis, Yes, Wishbone Ash, and more.
